ABOUT
Prior to moving into private practice I began my career in mental health as a support worker in complex needs homelessness before moving into addiction and family services within the NHS as a therapist. I have extensive experience working both within charities and statutory services. As a result of this I have had the privilege of working with an incredibly diverse range of clients and presenting issues and welcome this in my current practice.
This variety of experience informs my practice as a therapist and my belief in the importance of a trusting relationship as a foundation for the work. Therapy can be a daunting and difficult endeavour, therefore it is key to find the right therapist for you. I aim to create a warm, open space where we can confront difficulties and discomfort together.
Within my work I believe in working holistically, taking into account all elements of your experience. This includes recognising the body as the holding place for our experiences and attending to this in our work together. Additionally we cannot be separated from our environment and have inevitably been shaped by wider societal systems that we live in. This too is an important point of reflection as understanding how we move through the world can open up opportunity for greater connection with both ourselves and others.
